I've been told to "Do Good Things." Occasionally I've even been told that I succeed in this endeavor. Electronics Hobbyist. Programmer. Freelancer. Interested in the days past where DIP chips reigned supreme.
The meaning of my usual handle (cr1901) is lost to time. On Unix machines, I try to use the name wjones. I try to keep the non-technical parts of my life private, but if you're curious about anything, feel free to ask.
As for the technical side, I'm peripherally involved in way too many projects for my own good. Maybe eventually, I'll document them all here. In the meantime, besides my consulting page, the IRC channels I'm idling in give a good overview of my interests1 .
I'm in many channels on the Libera IRC network:
##audio-chips
##homebrewcpu
##openfpga
##rust-retro
##sillycon
##yamahasynths

Additionally, on OFTC, I idle in #asahi-gpu

, while on

.
If you stick around, you'll eventually find some new posts inspired by one or more of the above channels :).

(Netbook or other)Email, Mastodon, and Libera Chat are the easiest ways to contact me as of this writing (2023-06-21).
1 Yes, I still use IRC a lot in 2023, much more than either Discord or Matrix, for better or worse. Neither Discord nor Matrix are good ways to contact me.
